About Fontik
What Fontik is
Fontik is a catalogue of free fonts in 8 languages. Every font is under an open license that allows free use, and every page lets you try the font on your own text, download it as a family archive for installing or as a ready-to-use web kit (WOFF2 files and CSS), and read the license it comes with.
Where the fonts come from
Fonts are collected automatically from open sources such as the Google Fonts repository and fonts published on GitHub, and some are added by hand. Each file is checked before it is published: it must be a real text font, small enough for the web, and come with a license that allows redistribution. For every font we keep the author's name, the license and a link to the source.
Kazakh and other languages
We pay special attention to which fonts really cover Kazakh: a font is marked as supporting it only if it contains all the letters Kazakh adds to the Russian alphabet (Ә, Ғ, Қ, Ң, Ө, Ұ, Ү, Һ, І). Support for other writing systems is read from the font file itself, not from claims in a description.
How the texts are written
Short titles and questions are built from templates. The longer description of each font is written by an AI model in each language from facts read from the font file (styles, scripts, number of glyphs, license) and checked automatically; it is not translated from English. We aim to say only what the file shows.
Fonts belong to their authors
Fontik does not own the fonts: they remain the work of their authors under the licenses shown. If you are an author and want a font changed or removed, write to us: [email protected]
