How the pairs are chosen

Every font in the catalogue is classified by what it suits and how it feels. A pair needs contrast of structure (a serif with a sans serif, or a showy face over a quiet text face), a similar x-height so the lowercase letters stand equally tall, a shared mood, and the body font must be made for reading. When you ask for Cyrillic or Kazakh letters, both fonts must have them. These are rules, not taste: leave the final choice to your eyes.
